La dedicación y esfuerzos necesarios para elaborar una imagen reivindicativa, documental y artística se viraliza al tiempo que se diluye y desvirtúa en el medio digital e internet. Producir imágenes por medios digitales es tan rápido y en muchos aspectos tan sencillo que el valor de la obra queda al margen de su pura iconicidad, lo cual pone a las artes tradicionales, matéricas, sobre soportes físicos y basadas en las habilidades y maestría técnica del ejecutante, en productoras de auténticos monumentos a los temas representados. Adquirir una pieza del "Museum of compassion" es una forma de contribuir económicamente a la salvación de perros cautivos con los días contados antes de su sacrificio. El proyecto "An Act og Dog" (un juego de palabras que con una simple inversión del orden alfabético convierte un acto de Dios/God en un acto de Perro/Dog) busca materializar la presencia de los perros a rescatar y de la compasión a reivindicar por parte de la comunidad humana, mediante la venta de pinturas y reproducciones de retratos de perros con una historia detrás, una historia de sacrificio provocado por causas e intereses humanos. Antrozoología artística en estado puro, pero también una estrategia de mercado y promoción de la obra artística de Mark Barone, en complicidad con las capacidades profesionales y comunicativas de Marina Dervan y Brenda Cooper, artífices más visibles de la iniciativa, encaminada a la concienciación y a la recaudación de fondos para promover educacionalmente la erradicación del maltrato animal con los perros como baluarte de nuestros cómplices zoológicos. Sin duda la iniciativa y su forma de gestarse me parece destacable, inteligente y respetable, aunque mi instinto arácnido vibra.

MARK BARONE
Prior to starting this charity, Mark had been an Artist for over 30 years, with his work featured in top art publications, awarded and exhibited throughout America, with much of his work hanging in private and corporation collections all over the World.
In addition to this his art career, Mark is the CEO of "ArtSmartCities" and a national award winning Consultant to cities across America, showing them how to use the arts to revitalize blighted neighborhoods, and is revered for his successful creation and implementation of the “Paducah Artist Relocation Program,” in Paducah, Kentucky. This cutting edge program won the Governor’s Award in the Arts, the Kentucky Chapter of the American Planning Association Distinguished Planning Award, the Kentucky Earth Day Award for Preservation, the national award from the American Planning Association for a Special Community Initiative, and the Rudy Bruner award for Urban Excellence. Mark donates 100% of the money from his consulting to An Act of Dog!

Brenda is an Emmy award winning costume designer and celebrity stylist. She is renowned for "The Nanny" and "Happily Divorced" with Fran Drescher, and is the go to style guru for the Hollywood elite. She is currently creating the look for "Better Late Than Never," a new NBC show starring William Shatner, Henry Winker, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Jeff Dye.
